::WHAT WE DO::

[TRUE MASTERING]
Professional mastering is essential to producing a professional sounding CD. It can help your recording achieve more clarity, depth, punch, power, warmth, sheen, character, atmosphere and a number of other qualities as your material may warrant. True mastering involves technical and creative expertise, musical instinct and patience, all applied in conjunction with the right selection of highly specialized equipment. Dollar for dollar, professional mastering is the best bargain in the entire recording & manufacturing process, so don’t settle for substandard mastering.

[DEDICATED STUDIO]
Newcomers to the mastering process are often misinformed and unaware of the quality differences achieved only by mastering in a studio specifically designed for mastering. The integrity, overall equalization and dynamics of your album are nothing to compromise. Mastering is best performed by an objective, trained, outside ear that is approaching the project fresh, for the first time, in an acoustically tuned mastering studio. Bluefield is a dedicated mastering studio. No recording and no mixing is performed here, mastering is all we do – polishing your final mixes to sound their absolute best is our only concern. Bluefield Mastering can help you make accurate and quality decisions to help you fully realize your audio vision.

[THE MASTERING PROCESS]
Understand that your final mixes are not necessarily final; something can almost always be done in mastering to improve your mixes. Once-problematic recordings can be made acceptable and great recordings can be transformed into sonic masterpieces! After your recording has been mixed, trust an unbiased specialist who has spent his entire career working with mixdowns to properly put the finishing touches on your music.

[HEARING IS BELIEVING]
It’s much easier to understand the mastering process by hearing the difference as it happens. Written and verbal descriptions often fall short of properly conveying the sonic benefits achieved through mastering. Consultations, demos & estimates can be arranged free of charge.

[THE SESSION]
A session for a full-length record usually takes a day. However, studio time varies according to a number of factors regarding your recording. You are encouraged to attend the session. A reference copy of your master is made at the end of the session for your review. Listen to your reference! Call us back within two weeks with approval or to request any changes. Once we have received your approval a Production Master will be forwarded to your plant. Payment is due at the end of each session unless previously arranged before the session date. Call about our special rates for mail-in orders!
